Rousey's Return Full of Fight & Fright

"All I care about it winning this f-ing fight", Rousey said in the ESPN interview.

Rousey has largely avoided promoting her comeback fight and has skipped numerous usual pre-fight responsibilities. This is what she wanted and we gave it to her. The guy is absolutely terrible when you compare him to other coaches in the game and I have a hard time believing that he will have helped Rousey iron out the chinks in her game.

Nunes has only been made available for a handful of media appearances in the weeks leading up to UFC 207, and Rousey's decision to impose a complete media blackout during fight week has placed Nunes in the shadows, too.

On a recent edition of "UFC Tonight", co-hosts Daniel Cormier and Kenny Florian were joined by Miesha Tate to dissect and discuss the two fights.

"She also said something like this is one of my last ones, and whenever a fighter even hints that this might be the last one, they're one foot in, one foot out, or both feet out", he said.

"Then you add to the fact that you've got all these cameras and everybody wants a piece of you, and everybody's calling you and saying they want to be your friend and want to cut your hair, want you to wear their stuff and want you to be on their Instagram posts".

"My money is still on Ronda". Rousey has been on Nunes' radar for as long as she can remember, and she has always maintained a confidence the matchup would eventually come to fruition.

"I understand it", said Cruz. The main weakness has been her endurance as the longer Nunes' fights have lasted, the more vulnerable she's been.

"This is because Ronda Rousey isn't here", White said of reviving his traditional pre-fight media scrum.

"I think that's gonna be the key for Rousey, to be herself, maybe even take it into the later rounds", he said.

She returns to the UFC in hopes of not only regaining her championship, but perhaps of restoring order to a division that's seen as much chaos as any other in 2016.

Now she's back. for now. "My goal is never to hurt anyone, my goal is to win and prove myself as an athlete and I think that is the reason most people come to this sport". "If somebody doesn't want to show up for a press conference, I'll pull them from a card again".

"Maybe she doesn't want to do it".

She may not be as traditionally marketable as Rousey, but Nunes is deserving of more than what she's got so far. "People want to see how she comes back, and it nearly adds a different level of curiosity in the fact of, will she come back better without all this media in her face?" It was over nine years ago that Cruz first fought TAM founder Urijah Faber.

This is so because the estimated amount that Rousey could make with an acting career is much lesser than what she would make as a fighting champion. You know, assuming she would have gone the distance - which she didn't.

UFC 207 goes down this Friday evening, but not everything has been going to plan during the fight week build-up in Las Vegas.
