ISIS' Claim in Vegas Shooting False, says Suspect's Brother

As a matter of fact, after a very short span of time news links were swarming in Facebook and Twitter that the Shooter is a part of ISIS. Far from the confident propaganda it pumped out when it controlled a pseudo state, the group now justifies its losses to its supporters and urges them not to give up the fight.

According to a report in The Telegraph of United Kingdom, the Islamic State terror group has claimed that Stephen Paddock converted to Islam a few months ago.

"This saves the Islamic State the trouble of having to "retract" a claim, since from the standpoint of communicating to the external world, no formal claim was made if the only material ever issued was an Amaq News report relying on a mere 'source, '" Al-Tamimi wrote.

More than 50 people have been confirmed dead and 200 injured in the shooting, making it the deadliest in USA history.

Stephen Paddock's family said he had no political or religious affiliation.

Authorities have yet to identify a motive for the shooting, and said initially there was no evidence of any connection to worldwide terrorism. Paddock killed himself as police closed in, making it easier for ISIS to make the claim.

But police later identified the attacker as a heavily indebted Filipino gambling addict, saying it was a botched robbery that was not terrorism-related. It claimed an attack on a Philippine casino on June 2, 2017, where a gunman had killed 36 people. The group said al-Amriki responded to the calls of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi (ISIS leader) to "target the countries of the Crusader coalition", which had destroyed many territories of the extremist group in Syria and Iraq.

Isis was also linked to a vehicle and knife attack in Edmonton, Canada, where a police officer found a flag used by the group in the perpetrator's auto.

The Islamic State's unsubstantiated claim, released on Monday, didn't mention gunman Stephen Paddock by name, and came amid rampant speculation about the attacker's identity and motives.

An intercepted ISIS communication from October 2 claims credit for the shooting in Las Vegas on October 1. "This is merely a way to garner more attention. even though the claim is patently. false".
