Pay with Google goes live

A new service called Pay with Google has launched to allow customers to complete mobile transactions with the payment information connected to one of their Google accounts, like Chrome or YouTube.

Google has finally rolled out Pay with Google to simplify the payment process on Android devices. Google will send the buyer's payment information and shipping address to the seller, so they don't have to type it all in, the post said.

Rolling out to a few apps (listed below) and Chrome, when a purchase process is almost complete, Android users will be met with a new option to Pay With Google.

Unlike existing tools that let developers understand how real-world users experience their own sites, Chrome User Experience Report offers comparisons with other sites and macro user experience trends across the web. Pay with Google is now rolling out, and it already has some partners signed up for it.

The biggest challenge Google is likely to face isn't drawing in merchants - simple API implementation and the absence of a transaction fee will help there. Other services like Airbnb, StubHub, EAT24, Instacart, Papa John's, Deliveroo, and many more become a part of the program soon. Developers need to add a few lines to their existing code to enable Google's newest creation on their apps and websites. But the APIs behind Google Payments are available globally, so it's possible that the service is launching globally too. "Then, the merchant will handle all the details just like any other purchase", said Google.

But Google has lined up a long list of popular services that will offer the faster checkout to customers via their apps and mobile websites, when loaded in the Chrome browser. Google has also partnered with a few payment providers, though it promises more soon.
