Three hurt in auto attack near Toulouse: French police

Three people are injured after a vehicle plowed into a crowd of people near a school in southwestern France. The interior ministry said the students were lightly injured; BFM reported that two were in serious condition.

At least three people have been hurt in a vehicle attack near Toulouse, Occitanie, in southern France said the French police on Friday, as reported by news agency AFP.

The 28-year-old driver, who was arrested immediately afterwards in the city's Blagnac suburb, acted "deliberately" but was not on a list of known extremists, one source said, asking not to be named.

All three victims, who are thought to be Chinese and aged 22 and 23, have been taken to a hospital in Toulouse for treatment.

One police source told the French news agency the driver "deliberately" tried to ram the students with his auto, one of whom is in serious condition. The man was arrested on the spot. Unconfirmed reports have claimed the driver suffered from major psychological problems.

He said he wanted revenge, but did not specify what for.

Paul, a communications student at IGS Campus, told La Depeche: "I was in class and I heard sirens". These are Chinese students.
