Camila Cabello "Wasn't Prepared For" Fifth Harmony's Shade-Filled 2017 VMAs Performance

On Dec. 18, 2016, former Fifth Harmony member, Camila Cabello, chose to part ways with the girl group.

It's a busy week for Camila Cabello. There aren't many other flourishes from the land of Cabello's birth on "Camila", her first solo album, so it was a stroke of possibly accidental genius to sense a huge hit in a blithely tropical song about a gal who left her heart in a less easily retrievable place than San Francisco. "I think there's a healthy amount of space you need to give certain things", she said of her months-long silence.

'It became clear that it was not possible to do solo stuff and be in the group at the same time. Camila's solo album "Camila" drops January 12.

He said: "Camila Cabello just had the huge hit with "Havana", I think she's going to have an fantastic year because she's just so gorgeous and so much fun and she's got a great voice and she has great attitude".

"I'd just say congratulations", the British rock icon shared of what he would say to Camila if they ever met.

After forming Fifth Harmony on the United States version of The X Factor in 2012, Camila was one of the most popular band members until she left in December 2016.

This week, the 20-year-old singer when her single "Havana" hit the seven week-mark at the top of Billboard's Pop Songs radio airplay chart.

In his interview, John revealed that he was a fan of the former Fifth Harmony singer and admired her music.

"I just love that attitude, there's a vibrance here that makes me feel good". It'd be interesting to hear that version of an album that's clearly been through a lot of tinkering and sequencing, especially if some of what got chucked was more autobiographical about her recent career turns.

Fifth Harmony's last performance as a five-piece was on December 18, 2016 - just one day before Cabello's departure would be made public. "But I just wasn't expecting for them to be there and I just got kind of weird, I was like, 'Why are you so weird, stop being weird'".
